Little Egret is found in a wide variety of open inland and coastal wetlands, shallow water around lakes, rivers, streams and estuaries. She feeds on small fishes, frogs, lizards, worms, crustaceans, molluscs and a wide part of insects. L'aigrette garzette se trouve dans une large variété de zones humides ouvertes, à l'intérieur des terres ou en zone côtière, dans des eaux peu profondes autour des lacs, près de rivières, des fleuves et dans les estuaires. Elle se nourrit de petits poissons, grenouilles, lézards, vers, crustacés, mollusques, et d'une grande quantité d'insectes.
